In the last few days good, free Americans have shown the world what free men look like, without question the men who did these things have guts of steel!

I come to you not to simply commend these courageous people (isn’t it sad to have to refer to people who simply exercise their God given rights, which are even acknowledged in our own Constitution as courageous?) no, I come rather to speak of cowards, people who speak of dark things such as war and freedom and liberty in one breath, and in the next chastise those who exercise their freedoms with the next. People like Uncle Jimbo at Ace of Spades, who calls our freedom fighters, idiots, dipshits, and dumbasses. And Allahpundent over at HotAir, and there are many others if you care to troll around the message boards and read what people have to say. Their general idea is that “Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should” and that this will do more to harm the cause of the 2nd Amendment than to help it, and even that we shouldn’t open carry, in these cases in specifically and in general terms, because it will make people uncomfortable, is tactically unwise and will result in a gun ban or hard feelings or something.

I have termed these people, right wing chickens, they are all for fighting for our rights and standing up for true freedom, as long as it doesn’t make anyone uncomfortable, and we surely don’t want to see anyone who isn’t a properly licensed individual with a firearm in public OH NO THAT WOULD BE AWFUL! These are the folks who will fight tooth and nail for a state concealed handgun permit, and will be the first one to call the cops on you if you happen to expose your gun while carrying it. The want an armed America, just so long as no one sees it, rule followers, appeasers, Chickens. I have been told by people I know that they don’t want open carry in Texas because its tactically inferior to concealed carry, I want you to go back and read that again, they are comfortable with open carry being illegal, ostensibly because its tactically poor? I’m not even going to address the tactical advantages of having your firearm available without having to sort through your clothing to get to it in an emergency, I just want you to savor the idea there of people wanting to limit your freedom because of something they are uncomfortable with doing personally. It quite frankly blows my mind that these folks can call themselves gun rights supporters, these are the kind of folks who threw all the NFA folks under the bus back in 1986, the evil black rifle owners under the bus in 1994 and now they are trying to throw all the open carry folks under the bus now.

I find these people to be as dangerous as the Brady bunch, they divide the gun right issue into groups and slice off everything that isn’t their comfort zone, their hobby, their passion and they put all the rest into a pile of expendable rights. Now look, I think right off that a 200lb bench rifle is completely retarded, a complete waste of metal and energy, but I would never want the right to own and operate freely a bench rifle to be taken away, the same with hunting, don’t really have much use for it right now (though my first season of hunting is coming up this fall and that opinion may change) but the right to hunt is as passionate to me as the right to own my ARs and AKs that I find necessary to defend my freedom.

Resist these right win chickens, challenge their opinion, point out their foolishness, truth is the best cure for stupid and buddy these folks have stupid in droves!

We must exercise our freedoms even when, even when, especially when it makes others uncomfortable, a freedom isn’t truly a freedom unless it can be exercised when others don’t want you to. We need more people to operate within the body of the law and open carry around the media, and around these protests, at town halls and in public. And we need more states to fix their unconstitutional laws that ban open carry so that freedom can take an inch back from the totalitarian left.

Next time: Not another Inch, to end incrementalism in America

Every thought, every idea, all the time!

Everything conveys an idea, EVERYTHING, and no your not allowed to ignore this and just enjoy whatever floats by:

"GI Joe: Rise of Cobra, is a despicable excuse for a movie... For an action film, it is horrible, but for an American film, it is a disgrace"

http://bighollywood.breitbart.com/cyogerst/2009/08/12/gi-joe-an-obamanation/

Every movie, TV show, book or newspaper article presents you with a worldview, usually not a complete one, always an idea of one. As Americans, we have a responsibility to understand what we watch and read because every idea has a consequence, and bad ideas have bad consequences. We can never be relaxed when partaking of any information, whether it a movie or the evening news broadcast. Every thought presented to us, including the way a news story reported, what part got the frown from the anchor person? Who was set as the good guy and who as the bad guy? And what do we know about our news people? It may sound rather droll to live like this, but it simply is required to be a free man/woman! Every thought, every single word or scene in a movie is trying to convey an idea and we have to figure out what those ideas are and evaluate them.
When you have the bad ideas like those that are presented in this new abortion of a movie "GI Joe: Rise of Cobra" if you aren't careful to take note of them, tag them as bad ideas, and discard them we run the risk of bad ideas infecting our thinking.

The obvious horrible ideas in this movie are the de-nationalizing of GI Joe (the real American hero? not anymore) which promotes this whole bad idea of globalization. The leader of the bad guys, why he is running a huge corporation! Bloody big business is evil! And one that a lot of people haven't talked about; The Joe’s are treated like bad-guys in every encounter with the local law enforcement, normal people should fear anyone with guns? The military should be viewed as evil by most people? I guess you get to pick on this one.

At all times, everything you watch, listen or read should be screened by your brain for what the author is trying to say to you and those around you. And talk to your friends and relatives about what you noticed they may be stupid and not interested, but talk to them anyway bad ideas must be countered, lest bad thinking and wrongheadedness become the norm, well more of the norm than it already is.

Every thought, every idea, all the time!

Let me tell you a story
There was once a time in America when out of control taxation and arrogant politicians who wouldn’t listen to the land owning population began to incite the population. Riotous behavior and talk of insurrection, formerly unknown to these people began to become routine.

As this rift between the political elite and the productive people of the country began to widen, the elites began to employ their own citizenry as dissenters and in some cases incite violence between the two parts of society. Ignoring the people, the politicians spent the money from the public coffers without regard to how the people wished them to, took out loans from foreign powers to cover this spending and to pay off this loan, raised the taxes on these productive people of America.

Can’t put your finger on when this was?

Yesterday?

Or 2 years before the Revolution in the 1770s?

Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it

I pray we [the United States] turn from this course we plot now, for if we don’t I see no end to it apart from war.

Honduras maintains its intestinal fortitude

http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=CNG.97a31b1d5a5db1905fc6db2713c125a7.91&show_article=1

Honduras turned down a deal that would have let the want to be tyrant return to the country as president.

I am so freaking proud of Honduras, and I wish we had a true leader in the white house who would support them against the world of empty suits working for all the other despots and tyrants in the area. The cause? The expressly constitutionally forbidden act of attempting to lengthen the presidential term.
According to the constitution of Honduras, there is to be no debate about the length or number of terms a president can have. By law, the president of Honduras is elected for a single four year term, ever in their career. Any attempt to lengthen the term of office, or change the number of terms that a candidate is viable for is expressly forbidden. The result of such an attempt by a sitting president as mandated by the constitution of Honduras, is immediate removal from office.

Which, is exactly what happened on June 28th of this year. The only thing I see that they did wrong was in not shooting Mr. Zelaya in the back of the head, and hanging his worthless corpse from the capital building flag pole as a warning to tyrants and despots.

Zelaya has, since his exile, been whining like a baby and demanding that the world move in and create for him a dictatorship err well he's been saying he wants to be restored as the democratically elected president, but what he really means is have the world create for him a dictatorship, which is what he was trying to do in the first place.

This folks does not happen often, it is a rare thing indeed more so in South America where tyrannical military revolutions seem to be a weekly event. Its refreshing to see an actually liberty oriented military for once.

That is what happened, why should we care?

As good freedom loving people, all Americans should be interested in this case, what we have here, is the correct method, albeit a very lenient correct method of dealing with tyrants. Fortunately for the people of Honduras, the military was not co-opted in the planned destruction of their constitution and law, and actually came to their defense and removed Zelaya from power.
In the USA, we have our own constitution (duh right), it places checks and balances upon the government, we the people are expected to act as the final check against a government body, any government body attempting to co-opt the constitution and instill their own version of rulership over us. We should support the new Honduran government, because they stood up to a would be dictator and held to their rule of law, even more so, we should support them because the rest of the world does not. It is almost plainly apparent that whatever the "global community" supports, is evil and tyrannical, and whatever it opposes, is in the best interests of individual freedom and liberty. The very idea of what happened in Honduras is the most terrifying thing to any one of a hundred moderately tyrannical world leaders out there right now, and so, rather than hearing about the heroic efforts of the Honduran people against dictatorship and totalitarianism, we hear of a "coup" and how what happened was wrong.

Americans should take note, should ever the darkest of days fall upon us, and we be forced, with or without the support of the military to remove a tyrant from office forcefully, we would be foolish to expect anything less from the press, or the rest of the world. We should care about this because there is no guarantee that someday, we may be in the exact same place as Honduras, looking down the barrel of the world, scared out of its mind that its people may someday feel the call of freedom, and it could be their carcass hanging from a flag pole in the capital.

Tyrants and wanna be tyrants protect each other, at least from their people; for them, a revolution is only a good thing when bringing tyrants to power. Freedom is like a cold, it can spread quickly, and like a cold, when the right things are done to the greater body, it can pass quickly too.

Why does the Obama administration support the ousted tyrant? I leave that for you to judge, for I cannot see his mind on this, I just find it interesting that for the first time in memory, we are siding with the tyrants and despots of the world, against liberty.

Remembering...

You may notice, that in the course of my blogging, a lot of what I write about, is prompting you, the three
poor souls that read my blog to remember. And not to remember very nice things I might add, but to
remember things like D-Day, The Bombing of Pearl Harbor, Gettysburg, Valley Forge, and 9/11, moments
and people in history that were horrific to be in, and sobering to recall.

And I thought that you might be wondering why it was, that I would ask you, on so many occasions, to
pause and think about young men charging into hell, for you and me, and to remember those for whom that
was their final act.

To be honest, it was hard for me to contemplate explaining in words, for me it just seems the natural thing to do.
To remember and do my best to honor the memory of those who gave up their lives so that we could live in a free nation.

But the simplest explanation I can give you is this,
I want every man woman and child who are citizens of this nation, to sense the same value woven into
the very fabric of our country that I do. So that when you remember a battle that cost many thousands of men
their lives, and you understand that they died so you wouldn't have to live under a tyrant's heel, so
hopefully your love of country grows and your determination that she will not go quietly into the night
swells, so that when you sing the last words of the national anthem "Oh say does that star spangled
banner yet wave, ore' the land of the free and the home of the brave?" your actually interested in the
answer to the question! I would love for every child growing up, learn of the men who died on D-Day,
and read the letters our soldiers wrote home in the Civil War, and then read of the battles in which those
men died. I want every single one of us to understand what it is we have, why we have it, and why it
matters that we keep it, not simply for the sake of the memory of those who rest in Arlington, but so
that we don't overflow those sacred grounds with heroes! When you understand what something cost,
and how difficult it is to replace, that is the true value of it, I believe that you will be less prone to squander
that which was bought for us at such great a price.

Remembering 9/11 has its own virtue, it is imperative that we remember that with something of such great
value and fragility, comes the responsibility to protect it, and that there are those who actively seek to destroy it.

So I once again ask you to remember our heroes, those who fell then and those who came home.

Today I remind you of Darrell "Shifty" Powers, Staff Sergeant, E Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Infantry
Regiment (United States), 101st Airborne Division The Screaming Eagles.

Veteran of Operation Overlord, Operation Market Garden, The Battle of the Bulge specifically,
the siege at Bastogne, and the taking of the Eagles Nest in Berchtesgaden

A Rifle For Shifty

Last month, unnoticed by the media at all, Shifty Powers went to be with the rest of his brothers in arms.
And America, lost another hero.

Darrell "Shifty" Powers
March 13, 1923 - June 17, 2009
American Hero

http://elmtreeforge.blogspot.com/2009/07/im-sorry-to-say-i-didnt-hear-of-death.html

http://smallestminority.blogspot.com/2009/07/no-24-hour-tv-coverage-no-obituaries-in.html

Remember Today, Shifty Powers and his brothers in arms, and mark well, the price of freedom.

Accuracy can make one uncomfortable

http://booksbikesboomsticks.blogspot.com/2009/07/happy-fourth-of-july.html

Today is the day when real Americans light off fireworks (or, in many states, watch the government light off fireworks for them) to celebrate conscription and income taxes, zoning laws and the FDA! Two-flush toilets and government-mandated florescent light bulbs!
